Mehmet Şahin
Associate Professor Mehmet Şahin, originally from Adana, was born in 1975. He attended primary school in İmamoğlu. He graduated from Kozan Imam Hatip High School in 1994. He completed his undergraduate studies at Ankara University Faculty of Theology, his master’s degree at the same university in 2006, and his doctorate at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University in 2016.

About
Mehmet Şahin is a faculty member at Akdeniz University Faculty of Theology and Head of the Department of Islamic History and Arts. He is the editor of Turkish Academic Research Review, Tanım Tenkit Teori, and Literary Studies journals; he also coordinates the International Multidisciplinary Congresses of Turkish Academic Research Review journal. He works in the field of Turkish-Islamic Literature.
Şahin has been a faculty member at the Faculty of Theology at Akdeniz University since 2016 and continues his work in the field of Turkish-Islamic Literature. Between 2017 and 2018, he served as the Head of the Department of Islamic History and Deputy Dean; he currently serves as the Head of the Department of Islamic History and Arts. Şahin, who also serves on various public commissions, speaks English, Arabic, Persian, and Ottoman Turkish. He is married and has three children.

Completed his bachelor's degree at Ankara University Faculty of Divinity. Acquired fundamental knowledge in the field of Islamic sciences and literature.

Specialised in Turkish-Islamic Literature and obtained a master's degree with a thesis titled ‘Mustafa Fevzi b. Numan: His Life, Works, and Poems Related to Religious Literature.’

He completed his doctoral thesis titled ‘Prose Yusuf u Züleyha Stories in Old Turkish Literature and Muhammad b. Ibrahim's Yusuf u Züleyha’ at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University.
Experience
Archives Specialist, Grand National Assembly of Turkey
Conducted inventorying, classification, digitisation, and translation of Ottoman texts for the Independence Courts Project. Contributed to the preparation of important works such as the ‘Independence Courts’ series and ‘Grand National Assembly of Turkey Album 1920-2010.’
